DBT Group
Learn Life-Changing Skills in a Supportive Group Setting
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Groups are a key component of the DBT model and offer a structured environment to learn and practice essential life skills. Whether you’re enrolled in a comprehensive DBT program or participating in skills group only, our groups are designed to help you manage emotions, improve relationships, and build a more balanced life.
What Happens in DBT Group?
Our DBT Skills Groups are not process groups. Instead, they’re more like a classroom—focused on teaching and practicing skills in a supportive setting with guidance from trained DBT therapists.
Each group covers the four core DBT skills modules:
Mindfulness – Learn to stay present, grounded, and aware without judgment.
Distress Tolerance – Build tools to cope with crisis and intense emotions without making things worse.
Emotion Regulation – Understand your emotions and reduce emotional vulnerability.
Interpersonal Effectiveness – Strengthen communication, set boundaries, and maintain healthier relationships.
Who Should Join a DBT Group?
DBT Skills Groups are helpful for individuals who:
Struggle with intense emotions or mood swings
Experience relationship difficulties
Have a history of self-harm, suicidal ideation, or impulsive behavior
Feel overwhelmed or stuck and want concrete tools for change
We offer groups for teens and adults, tailored to the developmental needs of each group.
